Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) is authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP), Public Law 117-2, signed into law on March 11, 2021, providing support to institutions of higher education to serve students and ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) received $15,327,693 in direct aid for students.

Through September 30, 2021, LAPC distributed $5,714,550 to 6,723 students ($850 per student) through the block grant process during Fall 2021 term.

Block Grant Eligibility and Priority Consideration Criteria:

• Priority #1:
  1. Be actively enrolled at LAPC during the application term and at the time of disbursement.
  2. Have designated LAPC as their home school.
  3. Meet the California College Promise Grant eligibility.
  4. Demonstrate financial need.
• Priority #2:
  1. Federal and State Aid recipients not included in priority #1
• Priority #3:
  1. Non-aid recipients not included in priority #1 or priority #2
• Priority #3:
  1. Noncredit students not included in priority #1, or priority #2, or priority #3.
