Pierce College Philosophy Department presents:

The Philosopher’s Cabaret: “Life is a Cabaret! The Philosopher’s Cabaret Explores the Meaning of Life”

Building 600-- Pierce students celebrate philosophy with this mixed media event that combines digital video, live spoken word, visual art, and live performance while high-lighting the creative exploration of philosophical ideas. Students will create and present performances (up to 4-minutes) centered on the existential theme “LIFE IS A CABA-RET!” With this theme, the cabaret will explore ideas related to the meaning of life or lack thereof.

Performances include original songs, skits, monologues, videos, poetry, dance, perfor-mance art, etc. Students may also create artworks that reflect the theme to be displayed in The Great Hall. There will be an opportunity to participate in a group art project through-out the evening. All Pierce students are encouraged to participate or attend.

The Philosopher’s Cabaret will take place on Thursday, December 5th at 3:30pm in Building 600; reception immediately following; music to open and close the cabaret; spe-cial guest host to perform throughout; refreshments and DJ after the show!

For students interested in participating in performance or art, email mcquitm@piercecollege.edu by Wednesday, November 27th. For accomodations in order to participate in this event, please contact mcquitm@piercecollege.edu at least 5 days in advance. Otherwise, just show up and enjoy the show!
