Pierce College’s Dr. Gaga Shines at the 2025 Oscars

Pierce College celebrates its own Dr. Garineh Avakian—also known as Dr. Gaga—as she takes the stage at the 2025 Academy Awards. An associate professor of music and voice at Pierce College, Dr. Gaga will perform with the renowned Los Angeles Master Chorale during the Oscars ceremony to air live on Sunday, March 2, 2025 on ABC-7 at 4 p.m.

Dr. Gaga has been a member of the LA Master Chorale since 2015 and is among its first-roster singers. As a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists, she regularly performs at Walt Disney Concert Hall, delivering both chorale and solo pieces. Most recently, in January, she performed in Lift Your Voice with Jason Max Ferdinand at Disney Hall, where 200 Pierce College students attended to show their support.

The Pierce College community applauds Dr. Gaga’s achievement and for representing the college on one of the world’s biggest stages.
