The Pierce College Plant Science program recently donated three crates of greenhouse-grown produce to the Brahma Bodega to support the campus community during the ongoing wildfire crisis. On January 14, student workers and volunteers joined Dr. Savanah Senn to harvest fresh lettuce, greens, radishes, and tomatoes in preparation for an upcoming Brahma Bodega distribution day.

The opportunity to care for the plants and provide fresh food offered a sense of purpose to students and faculty who wanted to assist in relief efforts. The Plant Science Program, which cultivates a variety of plants including vegetables, succulents, cacti, and trees, has a history of giving back to community. Previous donations include vegetables for the Associated Students Organization (ASO) in 2020, Mission College’s culinary program, and the Brahma Bodega in 2024.

Thank you to Dr. Senn and the Plant Science students for supporting our community with fresh, locally grown produce.

If you would like to assist students and faculty impacted by the wildfires, please visit the L.A. Pierce College Foundation WildfireResponse page for more information and options for contributions.
