Tuition and Fees

Students incur tuition fees after they enroll in a class and are charged per unit. Students can view their tuition balance and pay fees in their LACCD student portal. For the Pierce Global program, payment is due no later than seven (7) days after the class start date.

International students are not eligible for U.S. federal financial aid.

Explanation of Fees and Payment Due Date

International student applicants are required to pay a one-time US $50 non-refundable application processing fee. The fee is payable through the student portal after your application is submitted and processed.

The tuition rate for international students is currently US$ 405 per unit. So if a student is taking a 3-unit class, the cost would be (US$405 x 3)  US$ 1,215.

A US $2 Student Representation Fee is charged every semester to provide support of student representation in governmental affairs.

Tuition and fees for the online Pierce Global program must be paid in full no later than one week (7 days) after the start date of the course(s) in which you are enrolled.

Although your LACCD student portal may reflect a different due date, you will be dropped from your course(s) if you have an outstanding balance one week after the course(s) has started.

Class Registration

Once admitted to Pierce Global, students will receive an LACCD Student Identification Number which can be used to add classes via the LACCD Student Information System (SIS), which is also referred to as your student portal. This How to Enroll in a Class video explains the steps of how to search and enroll in classes.

  • If you need assistance navigating the student portal, contact the International Student Services Front Desk and live chat with ISS Staff during business hours.
  • If you need assistance choosing classes, schedule an appointment with an academic counselor.

Important Considerations

Enrolling in online courses or degree programs is a major decision. Potential students need to keep several things in mind:

  • Prospective international students will have to demonstrate a certain level of English proficiency to be admitted. If needed, we offer online credit level ESL courses for incoming students.
  • Pierce College is not able to provide work authorization or visas to students studying outside of the U.S.
  • Although we closely follow issues related to international education and authorization it is the student’s responsibility to review and understand the requirements in your country of residence and/or any country in which you plan to work. To determine if online degrees are accepted in your country, contact their education department. Some countries or professions do not accept online degrees, so be sure to check with the education department and any relevant professional licensing bodies in your country.

  • Some countries do not formally recognize foreign online degrees, this is important if you plan to enroll in other educational programs outside the U.S., or if you plan to work for the government in that country or for other potential employers that require specific credentials.
Use the links for each country below to find out if foreign online programs are accepted.
