ASO Scholarships - Online Application Process
The deadline for submitting scholarship applications, faculty award nominations, and recommendations is Friday, April 19, 2024. Please review guidelines below and follow all instructions. Only completed applications will be reviewed.
Student Scholarships
On behalf of the college president, ASO donates a trophy and scholarship to recognize an outstanding graduating student. Recipients must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average (GPA), currently be enrolled in at least nine units, be graduating or transferring, and have demonstrated a dedication to campus and community service. The scholarship includes a $1,000 prize and an award. A faculty or staff member must nominate student.
This award recognizes an outstanding student that has excelled in academics, as well as campus and community service. Potential recipients must be nominated be a faculty member. The ASO Scholarship Committee will judge applicants. The qualifications are a 3.5 GPA and a declared major. The scholarship includes a $750 prize and an award.
This scholarship is in memory of Matt Phelps, a former ASO Club Officer at Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC). Matt's dedication to campus and community service was unwavering, and he dedicated his time and energy to serve his club, the Vegan Society. The qualifications are a 3.25 GPA; student must be active in campus and community activities, a paid ASO club member, and graduating or transferring. The scholarship includes a $750 prize and an award.
This scholarship is in memory of Anne Gelvoria, a former ASO Senator. The qualifications are a 2.5 GPA; student must be active in campus and community activities, a paid ASO member, and graduating or transferring. The scholarship includes a $750 prize and an award.
This scholarship is in memory of Michelle Smith, a former honor student at LAPC. The qualifications are a 3.5 GPA; student must be active in campus and community activities, a paid ASO member, and graduating or transferring. The scholarship includes a $750 prize and an award.
This award is in honor of Eleany Busta, a former Executive Officer for the ASO. The qualifications are at least one year of service in the ASO as either a senator or an officer; must serve on one non-ASO committee as a student representative or represent LAPC students in a lobby effort. The award includes a $750 prize and an award.
Faculty Awards & Recommendation Instructions
This award recognizes an outstanding faculty member that has excelled in campus service. Potential recipients must be nominated by an ASO member. The nominated faculty member must be a full or part-time instructor for the full academic year. As a student, your input is valued, and ASO appreciates your nomination!
This award is for outstanding LAPC staff members who have excelled in campus service. This award is named after Facilities staff member, Rodney Allen, who contributed greatly to the LAPC campus that students were able to thrive and learn. ASO member students can nominate either part or full-time staff members who have truly made a difference.
Faculty and Staff
- If you are submitting a nomination for a student, please complete the ASO Scholarship Recommendation Form.
- If you would like to nominate a student for the prestigious ASO President's Award, please complete the ASO President Award Scholarship Nomination Form. Please note that this is HIGHLY COMPETITIVE and you should complete this nomination for students who you have taught/worked with that you consider to be in the top 5% of students.
