Annual Summer Research Internship Experiences:
The SURF program aims to increase the participation of underrepresented students (such as African American, Hispanic, and Native American, females who are underrepresented in their discipline, and first-generation college students) in science and engineering Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. programs and to make Caltech's programs more visible to students not traditionally exposed to Caltech.
The DOE Scholars Program offers internships, fellowships, and scholarships that prepare students for careers with the U.S. Department of Energy.
This is a list of the active chemistry division funded REU sites (Sies with active NSF awards). Almost every site has a web page where more information can be obtained offering research opportunities at over 60 colleges and universities nationwide.
UC Berkeley's Transfer to Excellence TTE: Summer Research Program:
The Center for Energy Efficient Electronics Science is planning to partner with the Synthetic Biology Engineering Research Center and two other National Science Foundation funded centers, to expand research opportunities for community college students. Community college students who are the first in their family to go to college, come from low-income backgrounds, are from underserved communities, and/or are women, and/or veterans are encouraged to apply.
