Activity Hours

Existing law requires a recipient of CalWORKs to participate in welfare-to-work activities as a condition of eligibility. As a student of Los Angeles Pierce College, weekly activity hours may be calculated by using any combination of time participating in work-study, time in class, and study time. Weekly study time is calculated at a ratio of three hours per one hour of academic instruction (3:1), including both credit and noncredit classes.
