Making Learning Visible: In the Making Learning Visible (MLV) Project, we believe that participation in groups is central to how individual learning is constructed, for adults as well as for children. The MLV project began in 1997 as a collaboration between Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, MA, USA, and the Municipal Preschools and Infant-toddler Centers of Reggio Emilia, Italy. MLV seeks to draw attention to the power of the group as a learning environment and documentation as a way for all--students, teachers, parents, administrators, and the community--to see how and what children are learning. http://pzweb.harvard.edu/mlv/

Centers for Disease Control: The early years of a child's life are crucial for cognitive, social and emotional development. Therefore, it is important that we take every step necessary to ensure that children grow up in environments where their social, emotional and educational needs are met. http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/child/default.htm
