ENGINEERING DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY

The Engineering Design & Technology discipline at Pierce College covers computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting topics and the engineering design process, with applications in mechanical & manufacturing engineering. Students learn CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Students in the EGD TEK 210 course take the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) exam.

Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) offers the following programs in the Engineering Design & Technology Technology discipline:

  • Associate of Science Degree in Engineering Graphics and Design Technology The associate degree program provides students with competency skills in computer-aided design (CAD) software and knowledge of design and manufacturing processes and drafting standards. Students will achieve a strong skill set to obtain a position as a mechanical drafter or designer in the manufacturing and product development fields.
  • Certificate of Achievement in Engineering Graphics and Design Technology The certificate program is intended for students who are looking to develop marketable skills in computer-aided design (CAD) software and drafting standards with the completion of 21 semester units. Students may choose to continue their education to pursue an A.S. degree in Engineering Graphics & Design Technology.
