NEW COURSE SUBSTITUTION APPROVAL PROCESS
New Course Approval Process
The student will email the Department Chair requesting a review for a course substitution. The student has been informed that they must gather and provide you with all supporting documentation (transcripts, course descriptions, syllabus if needed).
- The Chair/Designee will review the course(s) proposed for substitution.
- The Chair/Designee should let the student know if the course(s) have been approved or denied.
Option 1: TES
If the substitution includes courses that can be applied to future petitions, the Department Chair/Designee should email Cristina Castelo Rodriguez (@email) and request that the course/s be added to our online database of course approvals, TES. TES is a public database that Counselors, Graduation Evaluators and students have access to view. The approval can then be used for any student that has taken the course.

Alternatively, if the course approval is specific to this particular student, please fill out the PDF petition document.The Deparment Chair should email it to Cristina Castelo Rodriguez (@email).
