Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
As part of the application process, you are required to take and pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam with a minimum composite score of 62% (Your application will not be accepted without a passing TEAS score). Pierce College offers the TEAS exam free to applicants each semester in September and February.
Once you have an appointment to take the TEAS in SignUpGenius, you must create an account with Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI).
Prepare for this exam by utilizing the work-study book (TEAS 7 edition). Go to Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC to create an account.
TEAS score below 62% / Remediation:
If you perform below the required benchmark of 62% (in all areas), you will be required to complete a semester of remediation. You may remediate only if you took the TEAS at Pierce College but not at ATI or other institutions or colleges. While completing remediation, your application will remain on hold until the next application period. Once you complete the remediation, you will retake the TEAS exam and if the benchmark of 62% is met (in all areas) on your second attempt, you will be entered into the lottery for that semester.
